Physio has StairAID installed for Rehabilitation

StairAID is a product by Crichton manufacturing that is marketed separately from its other services, effectively as a different business to its core activity of specialised aluminium castings. It has been recruiting distributors amongst mobility aid shops and organisations working with disabled or older people and now has more than 12 on its list. The latest is the Fay Pedler Physiotherapy Clinic, where a StairAID has been installed at its Mannamead base. Leah Mears, physiotherapist at the clinic, said: "It's an inspired design that will without doubt help people through their rehabilitation and the use of stairs." Andrew Crichton, managing director of Crichton Manufacturing, said: "The best way of showing how StairAID works is to allow customers and distributors hands-on experience it." He has recruited business development manager Ian Morgan, pictured here with Leah, Ian was previously a business manager for Somerset Care Group, and exhibited the system at trade shows including the Moving and Handling People expo in London, and the Naidex Inspiration for Independent Living show at the Birmingham's NEC.
